French move on iGaming law

The French government has formally accepted the proposal for a new law on iGaming. The law would license online operators and oblige them to pay taxes and contribute to horseracing and sports.

One of the controversial elements is the contribution to sports, which is not a rule in most parts of the world. This point is taken very seriously by the government, illustrated by today's nomination of the head of the French tennis federation as head of the new gaming commission.
