West Australia introduces self-serve betting machines

The state of West Australia has started a trial with self-serve electronic betting machines, which allows punters to bet on horseracing and other sports.

The touch screen terminals, which cost around AUS$ 12,000 each, operate without a service assistant, but include comprehensive wagering information. The intention is to place them in TABs, PubTABs and on West Australia racetracks.

The machines have already been a great success in other Australian States.
